Today I received my KID Irene, who I have decided to name Annabel. She is absolutely beautiful and I’m so impressed with her. The resin feels wonderful to the touch and her face up is wonderful. She arrived with my much larger EID Bichun who you can see here.
I originally placed the order 22nd November which means it’s been about 60 days since then, within the estimated time frame. During that time I’ve been planning on creating a lot of her outfits and have resuscitated my sewing machine. My intentions are for her to be my travel doll, who will go with me on my trips. I already have plans to make her a little back pack and more travel clothes.
She has a beautiful shape and is also very flexible. For such tiny ankles she is very sturdy and can stand up on her own.
Also she holds her poses well with mobility thighs and doubled joints. She can cross her legs as well.
There seems to be some type of sculpey clay inside which holds the eyes in place. Also little wiggling sticks to change eye positions pretty easily as well as the standard S-Hook.
Complete side splits are possible with the mobility thighs though I haven’t been able to keep her upright to do them. Still she’s pretty steady.
Also front splits are easy as there are locks inside the leg which allows the leg to stay in place.
She can even stand on her head with no trouble! Considering her hands are not flat, thats especially impressive.
The double joints also allow her to sit on her knees, great for when she has her own kimono.
The spider position shows how sturdy she is. There is no collapsing and the position holds really well.
While I prefer no seam lines, she does have them. She’ll be clothed most of the time so I’m not too upset.
Her face up is very professional. I’d love to be able to get to that standard. It also shows me where I can improve my own face up attempts.
Double joints on the elbows are also very useful and allow for extra posing. It would be awesome if the shoulder blades could be moved slightly to allow for extra twisting and scrunching.
The head cap is scratched near the head plate but as it’s under the wig, it’ll be ok.
More seam lines on the back of the arms.
and on the elbows…
Here is the double unboxing video.
